But more than that…

I'm always on the lookout for a challenge in a Fractional Leadersip role, Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Team Facilitator where I can leverage my extensive experience in operations management, CRM implemenations, customer success, and sales, backed by a robust foundation in SAAS and agile methodologies.

I want to build relationships with those I work with. I want to empower them to scale their processes, grow their teams, and deliver on their customer promise.

My Unique journey.

I’ll be the first to admit I did not take the conventional path to this profession.

I did not go to a 4 year university. I don't own a tie.

10 years ago, I never could’ve imagined being where I am.

Before 2017 I thought my professional path was in tourism as an adventure guide. I thought, eventually I would either start my own tour agency or find my niche as a bike touring guide. I was all in on guiding bike tours - having done so in the United States, Bolivia, and Colombia.

It was in 2018, when seasonal downturn caused me to look for temporary work and I found an entry level position as a support chat rep. Here’s what I learned…

All of the skills I had spent years honing as a bike tour guide were directly transferable to leading in RevOps.

As a bike tour guide, one must :

  • Work with people from all backgrounds and disciplines
  • Learn on the job
  • Manage time and itineraries
  • Set the tone
  • Coach riders of all levels
  • Identify risks early
  • Analyze new information in real time
  • Respond to situations as they develop
  • Set expectations
  • Help riders make progress in phases, learn from their mistakes, and have the time of their lives.
Now, doesn’t that sound like a business leadership role anywhere?

Doesn’t it sound like a firm grasp of agile principles would be valuable?

Here’s what I also realized, most people, however talented, don’t have these skills. And those that are very talented as subject matter experts, will often make mistakes that can easily be avoided. It takes a careful cocktail of having a wide angle lense, attention to detail, and humility to help teams take ideas and turn them into reality.

And so... as I grew out of my support chat representative role, I realized that my ability to adapt (my learning agility) not only helped me advance in the organization, it helped me deliver results for our customers.

I went from being a customer service representative to a sales engineer, technology solutions leader, operations manager, and customer success manager, but behind those roles was always a problem I was solving. A solution I needed to help uncover, a plan we needed to carry out, and ultimately success realized.
